Dear Colleagues,

the election for the staff council for scientific/artistic employees at the Ruhr University Bochum took place on June 20, 2024.
Our list received 580 votes. That's 45,4 % of the valid votes. Therefore, the UAP will win 9 of the 21 seats in the WPR.
You can find the exact election results here.

Thank you to all voters and especially to everyone who voted for our list!

The staff council represents your interests in the department. But it only has a strong negotiating position if you vote.

That's why we ask you: Take advantage of your opportunity to vote by post or ballot box.

The WPR consists of 19-21 people (the number is determined by the voting employees). If you would like to know who will represent you on the next staff council and which institutions and subjects the candidates come from, then pay attention to places 1-15 on both lists of candidates.

Does staff council work concern you?

YES, because it is about, for example, the correct payscale classification, a sufficiently long contract period (in accordance with the guidelines for good employment), correct job description and good conditions in the workplace. Anyone who works full time should be paid that way. Has it been checked whether all financing options have been exhausted? And what about bullying, warnings or even termination? Those affected need competent, trustworthy support. No one has to go through workplace conflicts alone. You have the right to be accompanied by a WPR member of your choice. If you have good ideas for advancing the university and your working world (e.g. sustainable university, mobility change, etc.), then we would be happy if you shared them with us! Get in touch and maybe you'll take part in the next election.

Is it important which list of candidates you vote for?

YES, because UAP is an independent list and acts independently.

Our candidates come from different faculties and work areas and know the specific concerns.

Regardless of party or union affiliation, the elected staff councils are committed to the professional, social and personnel concerns of all employees.

UAP stands for transparent, trusting, cooperative and fact-oriented staff council work. Fair treatment, respectful cooperation and non-violent communication characterize our working style among ourselves, but also in our dialogue with the department.

If necessary, we will also fight hard for the interests of all employees. The core profile of our list is high professionalism and usually many years of experience in the complexity of staff council work as well as commitment to your interests.

The UAP rejects the introduction of union politics into the university via the staff council. The independence of the staff council members is therefore particularly important to us, because your interests are always our top priority.

Exercise your right to vote and vote UAP!
