Outstanding collection acquired by HC. Andersen´s House
Hans Christian Andersen's House in Odense has succeeded in acquiring a unique
collection of books and manuscripts.
Through generations a Danish family has collected original manuscripts, poems and letters
from Hans Christian Andersen - not to mention an outstanding book collection containing
several first editions with dedications from the poet. The extensive and valuable
collection consists of more than 600 items.
The pearl in the collection is Hans Christian Andersen's manuscript to the fairytale
"The Bell" - one of the central stories of his work. The fairytale was written
in 1845 at a time when he wrote his most beautiful fairytales.
