Unit 3: Media and Anthropological Knowledge

Contemporary affect research and the media

Prof. Tuschling's research unit investigates the media creating anthropological knowledge since the mid-19th Century with a strong focus on trans-disciplinary affect research. Concepts and methods of representation of human affects shall be investigated for their cultural and technological backgrounds, particularly through historical and systematical comparison of visual, but also semantic, methods of affect and emotion research.
