Sarah Horn

After having successfully completed her bachelor's degree in Media Studies and Media Law at University of Cologne, Sarah Horn went to Ruhr-University Bochum where she graduated in Media Studies in 2014. Since 2016 she is associated with the Mercator Research Group "Spaces of Anthropological Knowledge". Her dissertation project asks for aesthetics of desire in documentary media. Based on perspectives from queer theory, queer archive and media studies she focusses her research on artistic practices that especially enable trans*masculinities to engender desire or to be desired and that transform these desires into specific queer aesthetics. The interactions between the transitioning body and media technologies are of special interest for this project.
