With symbolic algebra and differential system packages (such as Mathematica) and generalized smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) code (plus optionally multi-physics computational fluid dynamics tools such as COMSOL) we will simulate various physico-chemical processes coupled to microfluidic flows. Within ECCells we can model steady and pulsed electric fields, time dependent electroosmotic (and pressure driven) flows in various geometries, electrode and surface chemistries, etc. These simulations, performed by RUB and SDU, will help in defining the interfaces of the various object classes and hide fuzzy or non-observable parameters and details.
