Chemical microprocessors form the basic technology platform (developed in the FP6 IST project PACE ) for a new hybrid electronic interface to molecular information processing. On the basis of these chemical microprocessors RUB-BioMIP intends to develop core modules (this WP), chemical evolution systems and software based feedback control loops (WP5) to
1. establish microscale electronic control of all three core ECCell functions
2. complete the step to integrating a programmable Electronic Chemical Cell
3. functionalize and interconnect the ECCells as programmable scpDNA processing devices
In order to achieve these objectives, in this work package programmable MEMS modules capable of supporting an ECCell will be developed, and a network of such chemical microprocessors interconnected.
