The central goals of THINK are to develop novel integrative theories of cognition and its underlying neural mechanisms, to test them in experiments, and to develop new therapies and technical applications based on these theoretical insights. THINK will focus on five areas of application with high potential for the future: learning processes, industrial workflows, daily living skills of the elderly, psychological disorders and neurorehabilitation/neuroprosthetics. THINK unites scientists from different disciplines from neurobiology over neurology, psychology and computational modeling to philosophy and, therefore, is highly interdisciplinary.
