Miriam Eilers

Miriam Eilers graduated in medicine at the University of Lübeck in 2009. She was research assistant at the Institute for the History of Medicine and Science studies at the University in Lübeck in 2010 and did research on Disability Studies and Enhancement.
She has been a member of the Mercator Research Group since April 2011.

Project: „Genesis and impact of popular knowledge between 1912 and 1943 using the example of Fritz Kahns „Das Leben des Menschen““.

Based on the books published by the physician Fritz Kahn (1888-1968) as well as his archive materials, her doctoral research focuses on the production and circulation of popular scientific texts and images in the first half of the 20th century. She is particularly interested in the iconography of popular scientific publications as well as transcription of knowledge in times of social upheavals.
