The focus of my research lies on the economic and behavioral economic analysis of law, law and philosophy, on public commercial law, and constitutional law. In both research and teaching, I take an interdisciplinary approach (law, economics, behavioral sciences and philosophy).
Within the framework of the behavioral economically informed analysis of the law, for example, I deal with the function and effect of moral motives (esp. fairness preferences) in strategic interactions and analyze the law´s specific tasks and possibilities of exerting influence. From the perspective of philosophy of law, I seek to establish the normative legitimization of the resulting legal interventions. In the field of Law and Economics, I focus on the interactions between the objects of the common good and economic efficiency in cases of public influence on private competition, such as in emissions trading or in the regulation of privatized public services.
