I am a Master’s student of English and American studies at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) majoring in English Linguistics and a research assistant to the Chair of English Linguistics, Prof. Dr. Christiane Meierkord. Also, I am a certified Helen Doron English Teacher at the Bochum Learning Center.
I graduated from Valley View University, Accra, Ghana with a Bachelor of Education in English (Linguistics and Literature) in 2017, and worked as an English teacher for my national service at Accra Wesley Girls Senior High School for a year (September 2017-August 2018). After one year of teaching, I started a travel and tour agency with my friend/business partner, and a series of business projects followed. After three years of setting the foundations of a couple of start-ups, I decided to pursue my masters in English Studies with a focus on linguistics.
Some of my research interests are (1) the status of English in Ghanaian communities in Germany, (2) English Language Teaching (English as Lingua Franca Model) and (3) The attitudes of Ghanaians toward the use of other Englishes by Ghanaians.
My current direction is Sociolinguistics and a very recent curiosity/interest in Forensic Linguistics.
