From Detroit Airport (DTW)
Detroit Metropolitan International Airport (DTW) is only 20 miles from Ann Arbor, about a 45 minute drive (at the most). Remember though, the airlines suggest arriving at least 2 hours before your flight! Major hubs are: Delta, Spirit, and US Air among others. For more information, call 734-AIR–PORT(247–7678).

To get to the airport, you can use AirRide, which is available for transportation to the airport from Ann Arbor. This shuttle runs 13 times during the day and picks up at Blake Transit Center and the Kensington Court Hotel. A one way ticket on AirRide is $15, however, if a reservation is made in advance the fare is reduced to $12. Get more info & make reservations at MyAirRide.com.

The cheapest way to travel back and forth from the airport is to use the Central Student Government (or CSG) airBus service. They pick up in 3 locations around campus. Non-reserved seats are also sold on a first come, first serve basis and will be charged to your student account. All return trips from the airport to Ann Arbor are non-reserved seats and will charge to your student account. Note that this shuttle only runs prior to scheduled UM school breaks. The CSG airBus charges students with a Mcard $7 if they buy their ticket in advance, and $11 if they board the bus without a reservation (reserve your spot here). To return to UM after break, there’s no need to buy a ticket. You just swipe your Mcard when you get to the bus stop and $11 is charged to your student account, NOT your Blue Bucks account!

The Ann Arbor Convention Visitor's Bureau maintains a listing of airport shuttle options.
