HOMEfit is a subproject within the joint research project
PRISCUS
(Prerequisites for a new health care model for elderly people with multimorbidity). PRISCUS, coordinated by the University of Bochum, Germany, is funded as one of six joint research projects in the Health in Old Age programme by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The cooperative project is an interdisciplinary research network whose members are general practitioners and gerontologists, sport medicine specialists and sport scientists, pharmacologists, specialists from health economics as well as epidemiology and biometry.
In the first funding period [01ET0720] from 2007-2010, the focus was on the development of novel approaches to health care for older people with multiple morbidities.
In the second funding period [01ET1005A] from 2011-2013, the evaluation of the effectiveness of these health care approaches is at the focus. One of these approaches is HOMEfit.
