| Der 27. Verfassungszusatz schreibt vor, dass zwischen einer Erhöhung der Diäten von Senatoren und Abgeordneten eine Wahl zum Abgeordnetenhaus stattgefunden haben muss. Er wurde am 25. September 1789 verabschiedet, aber es verstrichen fast 203 Jahre, bis er am 7. Mai 1992 ratifiziert wurde. |
AMENDMENT XXVII
No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of representatives shall have intervened.
