Electron solvation dynamics in ammonia clusters adsorbed on copper surface
(Prashant Srivastava)
In this project, we observe LASER-assisted processes occurring in ammonia clusters on copper metal surfaces. We aim at probing the diffusion of single molecules and small clusters. We investigate the clusters as well as investigate electron solvation in bigger clusters. The electron solvation will be compared to that within water clusters. We expect the processes to differ because of the different adsorption structures of the two polar molecules. Using a femtosecond laser set-up we explore the electron solvation process on the local scale at a time resolution of few femtoseconds.
