Leon van der Torre has been a full professor of artificial intelligence and computer science at the University of Luxembourg since 2006. He has been working on deontic logic and its applications for nearly three decades. He is one of the founding fathers of: input/output logic, the beliefs-obligations-intentions- desires (BOID) architecture, the game-theoretic approach to normative multiagent systems, and the LogiKEy methodology. His current interests are deontic argumentation, normative reasoning and argumentation for AI ethics and for explainable AI, and experimentation with legal and ethical reasoners. Van der Torre spent his sabbatical year of 2020/2021 at TUW as part of Agata Ciabattoni’s group.
