Graduation Day 2009
On December 11th, the Scientific Advisory Board convened in Bochum for their annual meeting and evaluation.
Afterwards they attended the International Graduate School of Neuroscience's Graduation Day 2009.
Here they could listen to several of our students (namely Nicole Schöbel, Barbara Imbrosci, Valentin Markounikau, Sebastian Gottfried and Julia Weiler) hold captivating presentations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the above-mentioned students for their time and effort! Poster presentations completed the morning session.
After the lunch break the winners of our school writing competition (click here for more information)
swarmed into the Veranstaltungszentrum and we began the afternoon with a lively award ceremony. Four IGSN students (Silvia Aust,
Arne Buschler, Nora Cavara and Arndt Manzel) read from the prize winning interviews and the Rector of the University,
Prof. Dr. Elmar Weiler, together with the Director of the IGSN, Prof. Dr. Manahan-Vaughan, presented the pupils
with their prizes.
The second highlight of the afternoon was the ceremony for our ten 2009 graduates. Following superb laudations,
our speaker Prof. Dr. Jörg T. Epplen awarded our graduates their PhDs in Neuroscience.
The Day was brought to a very pleasant close in "La Posta", a Spanish restaurant in Bochum,
where everybody was
able to eat and drink their fill amid agreeable company.
Thanks to all those who made this day such a success.
