Q: Does the grant provide salary or 'only' funding for consumables?
A: Both types of costs are possible. We expect to fund between 1 and 2 starting proposals.
Q: Could my core-funded post-doc apply as PI for such grant?
A: An important criterion is whether the applicant has institute support and is set up or will be set up as an independent group leader in addition to whether he/she has developed such a profile through publications. Employment of the PI should be secured throughout the second phase of the SPP (until 08/2017). The degree of independence from the "boss" will be important, especially when it comes to future publications. Please consider the initial call for full proposals and also the establishment proposal in terms of the direction and specification of the project. Ultimately we decide among the actual submissions.
